IFMSA-Iraq

The International Federation of Medical Students Associations - Iraq (IFMSA-Iraq) is a registered, voluntary student organization founded in 2012 by a group of Iraqi medical students. As a full member of the international federation, we are part of a global network of medical students.Today, IFMSA-Iraq proudly represents over 2,200 students and graduates from various medical fields, including general medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy, with a presence in 13 governorates across Iraq.Our core mission is to promote humanitarian and scientific values.
We are dedicated to empowering medical students to become effective leaders and agents of change within their communities. Our work focuses on key areas such as improving public health, advancing medical education, and advocating for human rights and peace.We strive to achieve these goals by providing our members with valuable opportunities for professional and scientific exchange through national and international conferences, research projects, and specialized training programs. Through our activities, we aim to nurture a generation of future healthcare professionals who are not only clinically skilled but also socially conscious and globally aware.

Our Mission
IFMSA-Iraq unites medical students nationwide to lead initiatives that impact positively the communities we serve. IFMSA-Iraq represents the opinions and ideas of future Iraqi health professionals in the field of global health and works in collaboration with external partners. IFMSA-Iraq builds capacity through training, projects, and exchange opportunities while embracing cultural diversity so as to shape a sustainable and healthy future.
